ρA= Apparent Particle Density (t/m3)
M1 = Mass of dry aggregate in air (g)
W1 = Weight of basket and aggregate under water (g)
W2 = Weight of basket under water (g)
ρW = Density of water at test temperature (from Table 1)

ρD = (M1 x ρW) / (M2 - (W1 - W2))

where,
ρD= Particle Density on Dry Basis (t/m3)
M1 = Mass of dry aggregate in air (g)
M2 = Mass of SSD aggregate in air (g)
W1 = Weight of basket and aggregate under water (g)
W2 = Weight of basket under water (g)
ρW = Density of water at test temperature (from Table 1)

ρS = (M2 x ρW) / (M2 - (W1 - W2))

Water Absorption (%)

WA = (M2 - M1) x 100 / M1

where,
WA = Water Absorption (%)
